Los Angeles, CA - 2024

I was invited to paint for Meeting of Styles, which is an annual graffiti event across the world hosted by different cities. I was able to secure this huge blank wall along with several other major graffiti crews in Los Angeles.

This piece reflects the universe looking back at us, asking us if we are holding up our end of the deal with this life we are given. The sun and moon gods float on either side, delicately balancing the forces of masculine & feminine nature.

Houston, TX - 2024

I was invited to paint for Big Walls Big Dreams Mural Festival in September 2024. I was allowed free reign on this wall, which I used as an opportunity to come up with a story book narrative that spans the entire wall.

A young knight meets a harpy in the woods - the story unfolds as the walls goes left to right, encompassing their whirlwind relationship from beginning to end.

Kansas City, MO - 2024

I was invited to paint for the SpraySeeMo Mural Festival in Oct 2024. Once I arrived at the city, I realized it was the City of Fountains, quite literally, with dozens of majestic water fountains across the city.

One in particular really caught my attention, which then inspired figures, horses, and the mood for pieces of this mural.

Corpus Christi, TX - 2023

This piece is a celebration of the aquatic lifestyle in the beach town of Corpus Christi, wrapping this giant octopus around the entire building and creating an underwater world to explore.

Around the corner, a curious diver sets out on an excursion to recover the lost treasures of many before him.

Facing the treacherous waters and the imposing giant mollusk standing in his way, he must conquer his fears and find a way to achieve his goal despite the inevitable challenge ahead.

South Salt Lake, Utah - 2023

Channeling the hardships of painting large scale murals outdoors, Kiptoe used the four elements as inspiration to adorn this space. Withstanding the powerful force of the sun, the torrential wet rains, the gusts of strong winds, and the Mother Earth herself - Kiptoe has seen it all while painting.

Gaia stands in the middle as an anchor for these gods and warriors, colliding into a concussion of energies. The flames from the sword wielder burn with passion, as the candle dancers below embrace their true selves and help each other burn brighter. On the right, the God of Wind blows the ship on course, giving it direction with power on its back - as the Angel of Guidance oversees the oceans and lands from above. The Goddess of Rain and Water helps fill the valleys and nourish the sea creatures and plants alike. The Moon God illuminates the dark skies at night and shifts the tides, as our lives move up and down like the ocean at shore. At the center, held in place by the hands of time; life and death balance each other out and create the everlasting cycle of nature.

With all the chaos surrounding our lives, it’s easy to get overwhelmed - until you stop and appreciate each individual element that provides meaning and guidance in our every day.

Danbury Fair Mall, CT - 2022

Through the topic of sustainability, this project was created to fill a large gap in the mall endcap and celebrate a more sustainable minded lifestyle for the mall and it’s patrons.

The wall was already prepped with a spicy hot pink background - so I said screw it, I’ll make my first hot pink wall.

Enid, OK - 2021

Kiptoe applied to an RFQ for a large skatepark mural project and was selected amongst many other artists and finalists to complete his vision for the park.

Celebrating the energy of the skatepark and it’s athletes, the momentum of the mural pulls from one side to the next, like the skatepark itself. Including all sorts of ages, races, and genders, the mural was inclusive of the community it inhabited and generated a newfound pride for the Enid residents and it’s skaters.

Chicago, IL - 2021

Kiptoe was invited to participate in the annual Titan Walls Mural Fest, and was selected to collaborate with Thomas Turner, who was a stranger before they met for the first time at the location. Through several obstacles, blistering heat, extremely busy roads and intersections, Kiptoe and Thomas were able to come out on top and finish this awesome collaboration in time - and became close friends because of it.

Painted for Spray See LA, a mural fest put on by my peers and I to bring some much needed color and style to Alta Loma Elementary School in Los Angeles.

I was invited to paint this mural at the Plaza Walls Mural Festival 2019 in Oklahoma City. The two women in the mural represent the different responses you have with a person you love.
The left side being the emotional and soul response you have with someone, and the right side being the physical and sexual response. The middle warrior grabs the dragon and steers him in his own direction, carving the path to his destiny.

This was a private commission by a local resident of Camden, Arkansas! He wanted a big mural on the back of his apartment building, in the middle of the downtown square, to really punch up the community and give a kick-start to fellow neighbors to help bring the town to life.

In the mural, we see an explosion bursting out from the center, as a way to hide the electrical boxes and pipes, but also as a way to create a solid dynamic between the two walls. On the left, we see the MLRS systems, rocket launchers created by Lockheed & Martin, amongst others in the area, that employ a large amount of people in Camden. The classic lion looks on in a stoic fashion, with the little guy on this nose ready for action. On the right side, an eagle emerges from the burst. The three figures below it represent hard work, grace, and beauty, while the large teal portrait against the eagle represents looking forward towards your destiny. The fighter jets are also a business local to the area.

The blue, red, and yellow color palette unifies the whole piece in simple primary colors, creating the boldest impact.

A fun mural painted inside the screen printing shop “Print Renegades” in DTLA. I got to trade a mural for Kiptoe screen printed shirts. I decided to go wild and add a whole bunch of crazy characters to the mix, including knights, archers, and space monkeys. Not to mention the exploding dragon bursting through the chest of the main lion/wolf, as he grabs hold of the antennas and steers him to battle.

I painted for the Akumal Arts Fest in the Yucatán Peninsula of Mexico. It was an incredible festival full of passionate artists and great organizers. Immersed in the Mayan culture and history of turtles, I painted a Mayan God guiding the turtles through their journey.

The following week I painted a small mural based on my experience in Akumal and the sweat lodge that I participated in. The Four Elements all represent a piece of mother earth that we shouldn’t take for granted. They are all flowing into each other, representing the warm and embraced feelings I experienced while on the trip.

A depiction of a God not fully intended to be Zeus or anyone specific, but a powerful man nonetheless. He is using his strength to pull all this energy, wrapping himself up with it. But is it good or bad energy? Is he craving the orange or blue? We all have good and bad energy that we give off and receive. It’s up to you to decide how you handle it. Will it tear you apart, or make you stronger?

A two month trip through Europe during the summer of 2018.

I was invited to Grenoble to show some of my video work at the Street Art Movie Fest, and I also created a stop-motion animation on three rollup doors on a street corner. I was invited to Finland for another mural festival later that summer… So I decided to stay in Europe and bounce around until then!

This mural was a big game changer for me, as it was the biggest mural I had done, especially in LA. It was the first “festival” I had done locally, supported by The Graff Lab, and it was the first personal mural that I got to use a lift!

The Three Saints are the personified entities that help us through our lives.

“Protection” guides us through birth and adolescence, protecting us from predators and hate, with our noble steed by our side.

“Love” lets us find out who we are as individuals. We accept the good and bad in our lives. We learn to love ourselves before we can learn to love others, and then we can create that heart-to-heart connection.

“Guidance” develops when we become more mature, and gain wisdom. We soar high above like eagles, and help those going through their first stage.

This was painted for our Epic Street Art Action Film “Kiptoe vs Robot”

This was painted twice, first for the first act of the film, and again after the robot destroys it. I painted both parts of the owl, in the robot costume, and Kiptoe costume. Big thanks to AAA Electric Motor Sales for the space!

Waddell, Arizona. 2018

Two really cool guys from Vegas commissioned me to paint their huge 60ft wall in their new vape shop they were opening up. They had seen a lot of my YouTube videos and wanted a special Kiptoe mural for their own business. The name of their shop was “Wabi Sabi Vapor”, which in Japanese means to embrace the beauty of imperfection. This was very intriguing to me. I made sure to incorporate cracks and texture and imperfect symmetry. I also decided to use some surrealistic elements, combined with comic book like characters and vape elements to bring the piece to life!

This was my first time in Miami for Art Basel. I was lucky enough to use my Instagram to find an assistant before I got there, and scored a nice wall.

This tells the story of this warrior, channeling his inner bull spirit animal. The bull is in full blown color, while he is in black and white. Maybe he is frozen in time, in the middle of making a decision. His posture is off balance. The target in the back is flowing, wavy, like the ocean. The string connected to the arrow goes all the way to the nose ring of the bull. Wherever he shoots his arrow, the bull’s head will follow, but not before tripping up his own legs.

After my big Policromia Tour, I travelled to Bogotá to meet up with my buddy Javier Almirón, almost exactly a year after our first collaboration.

I painted the top portion with the lion/wings, and Javier painted the hands, floating island and galaxy.

The man fully dived in, but gets wrapped up in this kraken creature, only to continue fighting and never give up. Based on the phrase “a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush”, but flipped to express the opposite; taking risks to challenge your limits.

This was the third city I painted at during my Policromia Tour. During this time, I was exhausted mentally and physically from painting so much during the tour the previous weeks. I was struggling to come up with a concept for this wall, until it finally hit me.

These characters are the personification of the four challenges I had faced so far on my trip. Terrain, Women, Rain, and Foreigner, with our hero in the middle, doing the best he can and putting his heart into everything he’s got.

This is a favorite of mine because it’s so personal to me.

The second city, third mural, I painted on my Policromia Tour. The figures were based off a sculpture I saw in a museum in Los Angeles, and I added the wolves to create my own illustration. The lovers are so wrapped up in each other, not even the threat of the vicious wolves can stop them from embracing each other.

This was the second mural on my Policromia tour. I had some time left over in the first city, and busted out this second piece. I was painting with the most beautiful scenery behind me. I was inspired so much that I put the houses and horizon directly into the piece, along with some personal challenges I was going through at the time.

My first mural on my Policromia Tour. Each artist was given a subject matter to tackle on their wall, and what I was given was sexual abuse. It’s a big problem that is not talked about enough in Colombia. I wanted to reflect a bit or pride and strength for these women to stand up and say something, and don’t be afraid to speak about it. Light the torch and lead the way to a new future.

This mural was a freaking disaster to paint. The wall texture was atrocious, there was a huge ditch at the foot of the wall, and the thunderous rain persisted throughout the painting process. It was definitely an appropriate title for myself as well as the subject matter at the end of it all.

A fun backyard concept for a cool couple client in Los Angeles! They wanted something badass and to have their own fantasy world in their backyard to escape into.

Painted in only one day at the Venice Beach Walls. The piece spells out KIPTOE in big letters, as the dragon weaves in and out of the shapes. It wraps itself around the letters, going through letters, and when it gets to the middle, it’s confronted by the bad guys, the guys trying to stop you. They’re trying to rip you apart, to break you, but you’re stronger than that. You adapt, you survive, and you persevere and become a stronger, red version of yourself. Be the dragon.

A wrap-around mural spanning three walls of the co-working space “The Muse Rooms”. The client asked for a big dragon to encompass the whole room, and let me run wild with crazy ideas. This room is the ‘quiet room’, but we wanted the walls to be the noise!

The strong confident horse charges forward, leaving a gust of wind behind him. The man in the armor is timid, unsure, and lacking the wills he needs to push forward. His armor is chipped, as if he’s been hurt before and needs to gain his strength again before moving forward. The woman’s face is tucked away in the horse’s mane, getting swept up in the stride and force of the stallion. The pink sun behind him flocks with birds pushing forward, sending his thoughts, but not his body. The lion reinforces the act of confidence and pushing forward, guiding his spear and striking with force.
